You were sitting on the Elven terrace, with Dwalin on one side and Bofur on the other, watching the dwarves heartily enjoy the second batch of cupcakes you had made for them, when Thorin approached the merry group.
"Where did you get those?" He asked in his usual gruff tone.
"Y/n made them!" Dwalin exclaimed, clamping his strong arm tightly around your shoulders. "Try one! They are delicious!"
Thorin merely looked at you with disdain, grunted, and headed back in the direction he had come from.
You propped your chin in your hand and asked, to no one in particular, "He hates me, doesn't he?"
"Nah, lassie." Dwalin began. "Thorin is just slo

By the time the company arrived at Rivendell, you had managed to win over every member of the company except two: Thorin and Dwalin. It was nearly impossible to break through their gruff exteriors. They usually just responded to you with grunts instead of actual words. You were pretty sure that Thorin's rugged persona went all the way through him and back out the other side, but you had come up with a plan that might just win Dwalin over.

If only you had known what all these questions would lead to though, you might have chosen your answers more carefully.
"Y/n?"
"Yes, Kili?"
"Out of curiosity, what do human women like in a man?"
"I’m sorry?" Yo

"What is... that beverage you speak of?"
"Oh! Hot chocolate... you never ever had hot chocolate?"
Kili looked at Fili, hoping to get some sort of support from his brother. When Fili shrugged his shoulders at him, you sighted.
"I guess... I need to make you some. What I need is just milk and cocoa powder. Oh! And maybe I can fish some cookies out of my bag..."
"Coco... powder? And what is that?"
"Fishing the cookies?"
You managed to crack a smile. You've been with the company for a month now, suddenly appearing in the middle of a clearing with your rucksack full of groceries when an orc tried to get your head. You have great stamina thank

She was crying again, angry hot tears that made her see red. With a choked sound showing her inner turmoil, (F/n) leaned her head against the bathroom wall, closing her eyes as she let her emotion flow from within her. She had held in this reaction for as long as possible, and she couldn’t hang on any longer. If she didn’t cry now, it would eat her alive and her later blow-up would be a million times worse. So she let the salty tears run line her face, and let the pain of what had happened rise to the surface.
For some time (F/n) was like this, alone and crying in the bath
